Jeffery L. Marks

After an exhaustive search, interview, reference check, and selection process, the Jacksonville Country Club (JCC) Board is excited to announce our new Head Golf Professional, Mr. Jeffery L. Marks.  Jeff Comes to us with 30 years of Head Professional and Course Management experience.  Jeff is a graduate of the Professional Golf Management Program at Ferris State University in Michigan with dual bachelor of science degrees in PGM/Marketing and a minor in Agronomy (the science of plants/agriculture/soil management, in this case for recreation).

In addition to his college education, Jeff has extensive experience and holds a national certification in food and beverage management as well as being a certified Golf Instructor from Jack Nicklaus/Jim Flick Golf Schools and Jim Colbert/ Jimmy Ballard Golf Schools.  Jeff’s former golf students include:

  • Kris Singh (brother of Vijay Singh)

  • Bert Yancey – PGA Tour and Champions Tour

  • Don Reese – PGA and Champions Tour player

  • Joe Pepitone – NY Yankees

  • Greg Jolly – Washington Capitals


Jeff has continuously been employed as a Director of Golf and Head Professional at reputable clubs since 1992.  He served as Director of Golf at En-Joie Golf Club, former site of the PGA Tour’s BC Open.  He played professionally on the Florida Tour in the early 90’s and has won several PGA Section events.  He was the co-holder of the course record of 65 on Bethpage Black from July 1993 – May 2016.  Jeff was the PGA National Award winner for growing the game of golf and six-time nominee for PGA Section Teacher of the Year. 

In his new role with JCC as our Head PGA Professional, Jeff will utilize his extensive course management experience to focus on leading the grounds crew to effectively manage golf course turfgrass and it’s playing conditions as well as all JCC grounds.

Jeffs employment search was focused on North Carolina as his wife of 29 years, Christine’s family resides in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.  Jeff, Christine, and their daughter Amanda (a college student) are more than excited to be moving to North Carolina and making Jacksonville their home.
